Evangelistic Crusade 2010
An evangelistic
crusade was sponsored by Faith Tabernacle Church on August
11th – August 13th of 2010. The
crusade was funded by the National Extension Board of the
Churches of Christ Holiness USA. Elder Ben Winn of Chicago,
Illinois was the guest evangelist for the event. The crusade
changed the Louisville Community forever. Elder Winn's soul
searching sermons reaped a great harvest by challenging more
than 36 persons to make a personal commitment to receive
Jesus Christ as their personal savior. More than 260
individuals attended the event during the week.
The support and
presence of four National Missionaries were gladly welcomed
and appreciated. The missionaries were Sister Janie Johnson
of Jackson, Mississippi, Sister Mariland Johnson of Pine
Bluff, Arkansas, Sister Lilian Brown of Jackson,
Mississippi, and Sister Odessa Stribling of West Memphis,
Arkansas. The national missionaries brought Bibles for
distribution and other needed items which enhanced our
outreach efforts for the crusade. The missionaries also
instructed the membership of Faith Tabernacle Church to
embrace the spirit of evangelism.
Many
visiting churches from the South Central Diocese came to
support our efforts. Greater Pine Grove, Austin Church,
First Church, Sweet Rest Church, Caaney Creek Church,
Greater Mount Bethel and many visiting churches and many
friends from the community. We are thankful for pastors such
as Elder Joseph Pridgen, Elder Eddie Brown, Elder Eulis
Brown, Elder Len Johnson, Elder Gayland Sayles, Elder Gervis
Kendrick, along with Bishop Joseph Campbell, Presiding
officer of the South Central Diocese.
The results of the
evangelistic campaign seemed to raise new commitment levels
within the membership of Faith Tabernacle Church. The spirit
level of our worship services on the following Sunday
reached new levels and we had more adult members attending
services than ever before.
The pastor and members of Faith Tabernacle Church is
thankful to the National Extension Board, Bishop Nicholson
and board members for their financial support to launch this
project. We believe this commitment will set a major
precedence in helping other new church starts to realized
their vision. The expenditures for the crusade and a church
progress report will follow.
